Become a sponsor for the Mountain Grind

We are planning our third annual “Mountain Grind” which is a fitness challenge in and for Pender Harbour.

Our first year (2015) brought 300+ racers and over 150 spectators to the Coast. Our second year (2016) was a success and brought 300+ racers and over 150 spectators to Pender Harbour. The goal for 2017 is to have 350 participants and lots of spectators.

The event will be held at the Pender Harbour Lions Club April 22nd 2017. This event will include kids races, music, sponsor vendors and dinner. The “Mountain Grind” will take place on the 22nd with a BBQ and awards. The newly developed Sunshine Coast Trail will be a big part of the 10 km race. There will be obstacles through out the trail to make the run unique and challenging for any participant.

Our goal is to promote the beautiful area and the businesses on the Sunshine Coast. This will be an annual event and therefore will continue to bring business here in the shoulder season.

By supporting our “Mountain Grind” race, you have a great opportunity to increase recognition of your business by both local residents and many Lower Mainland (and beyond) participants. Once visitors discover the beauty of our Coast, they will be back.

Participant Profile

Participants range in age from about 10 years to 70+, with the majority of adults in the 30-55 year range. We are expecting up to 600 participants this year.

Types of Sponsorship

We are looking for donations of cash or product/service to help with the success of this event. Cash donations will help pay for bus rentals, facility rental, porta potty rentals, timing staff, print materials, awards and prizing, and miscellaneous postage and supplies. Product service donations can be for prizes (products or gift certificates), refreshments for during the race, snacks for racers, rack card printing, souvenir garments, co-op advertising etc.
